With the rapid development of tourism, Corralejo in northern Fuerteventura has become one of the island's most important and popular holiday destinations. Corralejo, once a small fishing village, has now grown into a vibrant colorful city.
Corralejo retains its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still pretty beach coves in the city center, with white sand and beach bars that invite you to enjoy the Canarian sun.
Most shops, bars and restaurants can be found on the long main street that leads straight down to the central square in town. There are also regular concerts. From there you continue to the pedestrian zone to the cozy harbor. From the harbor you have a magnificent view over the entire city bay and the beach promenade to the dunes beaches.
The shifting sand dunes, a nature reserve that seamlessly merges into beautiful beaches, lie just south of Corralejo. They stretch for miles along the east coast. In the old part of Corralejo you will still find some simply built old houses, many of which have been turned into shops and restaurants.
Corralejo attracts tourists of all ages and there are countless fun and sports opportunities. From water sports, to tennis, catamaran or glass bottom boat trips, sailing to Lanzarote, jeep safaris, island tours, mountain biking, motorcycle tours and much more.
