Camp de Mar has officially only 231 inhabitants and is one of the smallest villages of Mallorca. But in the summer the idyllic beach and the scenic landscape attracts thousands of visitors. Families from Germany and the United Kingdom especially populate the resort, which is one of the most popular destinations in Mallorca.
The accommodation on offer ranges from the 5-star luxury resorts to 4 - and 3-star hotels and many apartment complexes. The Dorint Royal Golf Resort trumps with a spacious spa area and its proximity to the golf course of Camp de Mar. The course of "Golf de Andratx" has excited golfers since the turn of the millennium, with its challenging 18-hole course that can be played from a par of 72. Boris Becker will often swing a club here.
Celebrities in Camp de Mar in general are not uncommon as the picturesque hills surrounding the area boast many top properties in an absolute dream location. Claudia Schiffer had an exclusive estate here until 2005, which consisted of a 350 year old tower and three houses. And Pierce Brosnan brought fame to Camp de Mar in 2012. The former James Bond starred with Toni Colette in the movie "A long way down", which, among other things, was shot in Camp de Mar.
Restaurant „Illeta“ in Camp de Mar
Many scenes took place on the particularly fine 180 metre long sandy beach. From this a long pier leads to an islet which for over 70 years has been dominated by the culinary institution of Camp de Mar, the "Illeta". This family run restaurant not only excites with a fantastically romantic location, but also with exquisite fish dishes at reasonable prices. From here there is a lovely view over the sea and relatively unspoilt hills.
The bay of Camp de Mar is protected between Cap Andritxol and Cap d'es Llamp. There is little swell, which is why Camp de Mar is so popular with swimmers and snorkelers. Since the seabed is very shallow, swimming is also possible for young children and the beach is also monitored by lifeguards.
Cala Blanca beach
In addition to the Platja de Camp de Mar, beach lovers will also appreciate the less-visited neighbouring beach "Ses Dones", which offers pebbles rather than sand. We also recommend explorering the remote and pristine beaches of Cala Cranc and Cala Blanca. To explore the local area there are boat tours to Sa Dragonera and Paguera.
