Beautiful villa from 1798 with a large pool, tennis court and cliff-disco requiring renovation in Son Vilar

Details:

This finca in Son Vilar is steeped in history. Originally it was the most important farm in the area, then was converted into a luxury hotel and thereafter into a discotheque. It presents wonderful views as far as the harbour of Mahon and the mola.

The main house consists of 2 levels and has access to the particularly deep pool with a large outside terrace where once diving courses took place. The previous disco was embedded in the cliffs and had its own entrance from the street.

It would be possible to convert the property into, for example, a business or a fitness centre with tennis or paddle courts. On the other side of the street there is also another building plot which belongs to the finca and was earlier used as a parking area for the disco.

All the buildings require renovation.

Location & surrounding area:

Es Castell is a small, pleasant municipality situated at the entrance to the harbour of Mahon.
It is not only the most easterly district of the island, but also that of the whole of the state of Spain so that the sunrise here is the first to be seen in Spain every morning.

A number of streets meet in Calas Fonts, a pretty bay with a jetty where many handicraft stalls, restaurants and bars can be found, some even in converted caves.
Various viewing points provide views of 2 groups of islands in the harbour which are illuminated at night - the 'Isla del Rei' - the king's island, and el Llatzaret' - the hospital Island.

Approx. 3 kms distant is the quiet, idyllic bay of Cala Sant Esteve with the 18th century Fort Marlborough.
