Wonderful, renovated Mallorcan house with much charm in Valdemossa

Details:

This very beautiful house is situated in the historical centre of Valdemossa.

During the renovation in 2000 great care was taken to preserve the character and charm of this typical Mallorcan house with its hand-made clay floors, exposed ceiling beams, hand-painted tiles and exposed stone walls. The whole house is authentic and in a traditional style.

It is spread over 4 floors. On the ground floor is the living area with fireplace and a guest WC.

The first floor consists of the dining area with space for at least 6 persons and the open kitchen, and there is also a second fireplace which is raised to make its use as a BBQ easier.

On the second floor is a spacious and bright living area and a bathroom. The upper floor has a large room with inspiring views over the roofs and the sea which would be ideal as a studio or a second spacious bedroom.

A further important detail is that during the renovation the complete sanitary and electrical installations were renewed.

Location & surrounding area:

This lovely and picturesque village is situated at an altitude of 430 m in the Tramuntana mountains. The high valley has been a popular settlement area since prehistoric times. The Romans and Moores left their traces here. The most popular building is certainly the monastery “Cartuja de Jesús Nazareno”, in which Frederic Chopin and George Sand passed their famous winter months. The saint of the Island Santa Catalina Thómas was born here, and Archduke Luis Salvator of Austria, famous visitor of the Balearic Islands, constructed his beautiful residence Miramar in the surrounding area.
