Porta Mallorquina Real Estate was launched in Majorca in 2005. The innovative property sales system was tested for acceptance and viability in what is probably the world's toughest market for holiday property (over 2,000 property agents). The trial run was a success: Within a very short space of time, the four-language website portamallorquina.com had taken a lead position on the Internet in terms of “Majorca real estate”. Today Porta Mallorquina Real Estate S.L is one of the leading real estate agencies on Majorca.
Majorca's success was followed by a Master Licence for Ibiza.
With the establishment of Porta Mondial AG in 2008, the successful Majorcan concept was developed as an international real estate franchise system and Porta Mallorquina Real Estate became Porta Mondial AG'sfirst Master Partner Licensee.
Porta Ibiza and Porta Catalonia each wrote further chapters in this success story. The Master Licence was awarded for Porta Tenerife in 2010 and further Portas are currently being set up in Spain.
Thanks to this success in Spain and the huge market potential identified for the German-speaking region, Porta Mondial AG developed a customised franchise structure for the real estate markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, in the form of individual licences which form part of a strong Porta Mondial umbrella brand. In September 2010, Porta Mondial Düsseldorf was the first flagship estate agency to open its doors while the second estate agency, Porta Mondial Saarbrücken, starts business at the beginning of 2011.
Further expansion in Germany is planned in major cities such as Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich, as well as the North Rhine-Westphalia region.
